fair enough! for me I def enjoy the more electronica-infused first movement more than the other three, but I suspect the back half is gonna grow on me

(also I love Venetian Snares and I know he's been having a tough time in the last few years, so it was nice to hear him doing some drums on this)

this is actually first time I've knowingly heard Rosalía (save for her beautiful vocals on James Blake's 'Barefoot in the Park'), and I know nothing of Spanish music in general. so I had v little context for this!

I'm so excited to become a Rosalía superfan and let that energise my Spanish learning

aye, I’m sure I’ll outgrow it soon enough! think I’m gonna start following a bunch of Spanish language news outlets for a bit of immersion learning

that sounds very annoying! I am now on a family plan with my folks, so it never hassles me like that anymore

been interesting to see an app leaning into retention tricks and dark patterns that I usually regard as highly unethical, but in this case I don’t mind so much cos I WANT to keep using it

im just living my truth!!

lmao okay if it’s /that/ broad in scope I can almost get behind it more. there is some portion of the brainfuckery, and a large one, that I is inherent to the very concept of an internet and would still be present even in the best possible internet
November 22, 2025 at 11:33 AM
what I /would/ say is that the “free open internet” of the 90s/00s completely failed to stop itself being colonised by corporations and turned into something else. whatever guardrails were meant to do this simply were not good enough. which does, tbf, suggest major flaws in the original plan
November 22, 2025 at 11:29 AM
do you think? because I definitely feel that the free open internet is not the part of the internet that is killing people

(I understand that term in opposition to an internet dominated by massive walled garden social media and AI companies)

as to the topic of the article: Jesus fucking Christ

this esp tickles me because my new hobby this year is building a self hosted media & cloud service server on a raspberry pi, so I have been doing a lot of low end vibeconfiguring (starting with zero coding skills)

and this is EXACTLY the kind of silly project i aspire to when my skills are grown

OH MY GOD

Sometimes it feels like I’m being sent the message that it’s unwelcome and unpatriotic to fall in love with a foreigner, and I should expect only scorn for succumbing to that temptation.

Which… okay! Whatever! But all the scorn in the world won’t change my mind. Because /that’s not how love works/.

Right now, we both have good jobs. But what if that changes? What if there’s a recession? If we moved to the UK, would we feel constantly terrified to lose or quit our job, lest it cost us our ability to live together?

Don’t I have a right to family life? Does that mean nothing to our rulers?
