A controversial opinion in the UK: having a standard emails job then sitting in a house you bought for a song and watching it rise exponentially in value due to political choices that have nothing to do with you is not it fact “working very hard to get what you have”

This shows you that it doesn’t matter what’s actually happening: what matters is what’s on the radio when people drive to work. And this government is surely the disastrously disproven test case for the proposition “the British press can be appeased via crackdowns and authoritarianism”.

Do we or do we not live in a country where these awful people got their way at almost every major decision point of the century so far? We do! Is it good? No, it is a national calamity. Are they sorry? No they’re not, they’re *absolutely furious* that they haven’t got more and worse.

The worst thing for me is watching all these opposition teams celebrate their historic wins over Liverpool like a cup final. You're not special, lads, we lose like this every week

Let's all be honest, this is a cursed season. The sooner we all recognise that, the sooner we can turn to the one adjustment that can save us: baseless superstition.

What happened to Jota in the summer continues to have an impact on #LFC, whether some people want to admit it or not. It doesn't mean Slot's blameless for our current issues, but it's important to mention it in any discussions. Read my latest here: www.andcouldheplay.com/is-slots-tim...

A thread about the current moment for #lfc, and managers. Managers sometimes fit the moment perfectly, and sometimes, through no fault of their own, they don't 👇🏻
Klopp was a master of manipulating emotion: acknowledging, amplifying and directing emotion towards winning. Not his only skill (he was underrated in terms of tactical setup and sports science) but a v important part of his genius as a manager. By the time he left he was emotionally burned out! 1/..

Newmarket MP Matt Hancock gave a £37bn Covid testing contract to Jockey Club director Dido Harding, who subcontracted it to Grand National sponsor Randox, employer of Tory MP Owen Paterson, whose late wife chaired Aintree racecourse. That's how the Tories handled the pandemic.

You can be angry that they played shite, you can be angry that they lost and spoiled your weekend. Just don't tell me you know by watching the game that grief has nothing to do with it. You know nothing of the sort.
November 22, 2025 at 6:30 PM
Josh is right. A "monumental head loss" for all those who think grief has nothing to do with these results.
Liverpool very good at 0-0 followed by a monumental head loss after conceding the opener from yet another set piece.
@distancecovered.bsky.social could you analyze the difference between the first 20 minutes of games and the other 70?

I have a theory

It would be brutal to sack Slot. He’s managing a group of grieving men. Any wonder they make mistakes? Getting rid of Arne would maybe bring the players down further too. There’s no magic wand for this.

But it’s also hard to know where Liverpool go from here. Loooong season ahead.

Up the Reds.

I know I have maybe 15 points which I recycle over and over. But if you’re my age, your experience of politics as an adult is Blairism, migrant terror, disastrous war, financial calamity, destructive vandalism of the public realm, Covid disaster and finally Sir Keir, genocide and imminent fascism.

When we had billionaires like Gates that funded charity we were relaxed about them. But some of us warned you: it's still just one man's whim. He could defund the work instantly. Musk proves the point. The way to ensure billionaires' money isn't used for ill is through taxation

VERY funny that Labour are being pointlessly cruel and haemorrhaging support from their base and yet none of what they're offering is ever going to be enough for the people whose approval they're seeking, WHO could have predicted it

The wealth to go after is that of the top 10%, who own 57% of the country's wealth. And out of that group, go even harder after the top 1%, who own 23% (JRF, 2024). A quarter of our country's wealth. Tax the shit out of that. I wanna see tens of billions.
A mansion tax isn't how you hit the wealthy - who have a small proportion of their wealth tied up in housing. A mansion tax is how you hit the middle classes - whose only valuable asset is their house.

More cowardice from Labour: afraid to go where the real money is, to go after the super rich.

A Government of cowards.

Rather than tackle inequality - they've gone for pensioners, disabled people and now it's people fleeing war and persecution.

They can't get away with this.
