I think you have to see this as an affect of Trumps dementia. He sees the Mayor of New York. A place he calls home. He wants to suck up to him in person so win favor.

I hope enough people learn from the last couple years. What we are seeing happen now has been the republicans plan for 60 years or more. I hope people learn how to see how the policies they have talked about REALLY hurt most people. The Republican Party is for the oligarchs and that is it.

The thing I keep reminding myself, the republicans wanted to keep the government shut down. They said so in Project 2025. They allowed DOGE to hollow out agencies. They were actively using the food insecurity of the poor as a human shield to force Dems to vote against all of our interests. BlameThem

It’s a smoke screen. A classic republican tactic. They go on any media platform and say they oppose cuts to a program. They repeat this over and over. Then vote for the cut. This way they can campaign that they were against it. And voters never verify that they lied.
