In 22 days, I’ll have spent my first full year at a single company since the “shut down” (shit didn’t shut down here). All year, at least once a week, my manager has gotten a kudos on me (even after switching managers).

You know that landlord collected rent on the first too! These people are asking for the BARE MINIMUM when they could be suing for unlawful eviction on top of health and safety violations and potentially fraud. The city should just give them what they’re asking for, at minimum

This! Also though, I hate that west of the Mississippi gets to float by like they’re not worse.
It also tries to hide behind the halo effect of being "The North" for southern Black folks during antebellum and Jim Crow America, especially the eastern-side-of-the-Mississippi part of the Midwest (Ohio, Michigan, Indiana, Illinois, etc.)
