After rewatching some clips I think I just missed the point Gulds character. Either way Macross Plus is a must watch for mecha fans.
If you seen the ova or movie you know the flashback is left vague so I suppose that the scene is meant to leave you wondering and thinking. Definitely makes you tap your chin. I do appreciate a film that doesn’t try to keep you comfortable 100% of the time.
Anyways watch Macross it’s great.

Finished watching the Macross plus OVA, it was great and it definitely lingers after finishing but that flashback scene. Not to be a chud but it made Guld kinda unlikable after
