When he says "cut out the insurance companies", he means give a small check to directly to people that they can then, in theory, use to buy medical insurance. I don't know. Maybe as a whole the economy is ok but there are significant sectors very much struggling. Job market for young people is awful. Poverty level definition is a joke. Young working class families, retirees etc that I talk with all stretching the buck & worried. Healthcare is big concern.

To be fair, I think the electorate, at this point, deserves a bit of open contempt. How many voted for Trump just because they saw his signature on a relief check that resulted from a Democratic initiative (CARES Act).

Also Blue states provide more services, social & otherwise. If you are poor enough to be stressing inflation, you could probably use some of those services.
