Love the charge to speak directly about learning strategies & metacognition!

I did some of this type of work w/my Latin 101 students this quarter. Besides talking about study strategies, I provided articles (& my take-aways) about why the strategies work.

Really appreciated the opportunity to discuss linear reading, explicit reading strategies, & my favorite 19th c. professor William Gardner Hale at the #LatinPedagogyWorkshop

Go read Hale's The Art of Reading Latin: How to Teach It

Rejiggering our older course "Greco-Roman Democracies, Economic Policies, and Cultures" into a new cross-comparative empires course. Ever thankful to Imperator: Rome for some great header images.

Some shameless self promotion here… but if you’re interested in using @wikipedia.org @wikieducation.bsky.social in the classroom, I co-wrote an OPEN-ACCESS chapter on this very topic with Chelsea Gardner available here www.taylorfrancis.com/chapters/oa-... 👇🏻

Congratulations Dr. Plastow & Dr. Lehmann (who is, sadly, not on this website)!
Popping up here for a moment to celebrate the fact that we just submitted the manuscript for 'Gender, Status, and Space in Athenian Oratory and Society', co-edited by Hilary Lehmann and me, to Routledge! From a panel originally conceived in 2019, it's been a long road. Out next year!

In honor of this weekend's annual fall meeting, we have joy-scrolled (not you, Dr. R!) the last month & reposted IL classics content, pretending that this account has not been dormant for months (& four months.) Apologies for the levity. Come join us at our meeting, starting tonight with a social!
