Finishing up The Ticket That Exploded analysis and just hammered put probably the most fun line that i have ever written “Who is to say that a pencil isn’t a dog farting?”

Of course, I took a little theory and completely lost my confidence. It’s coming back, though!

In my musical life, I have had this conversation so many times (on the other side) and it wasn’t until I took a little theory that made me realize why people got so mad when I couldn’t identify key. And why so many of my collaborations had failed!
"What key is that in?"

This one *plays the main bits.*

"Yeah, but what key is that?"

I don't know. A good one? I like it quite a lot.

"No, like, I'm trying to figure out my part for it."

Cool. Make some sounds that go with this, I bet it'll be great.

*Seething rage*

That’s just nice!

I had something to say but then my head started loudly playing ‘jingle bells’ over it and now… i dunno. I need to buy a toaster? Maybe.

making noise out of rain sounds is harder than it sounds because rain is already pretty noisy! Anyway, here's 15 minutes of me doing that.

One of the greatest compliments that i have ever gotten as a musician was a reaction to my stage setup.

We were setting up in a studio that also did live shows. A band was recording upstairs and one of them came down to see who was getting ready.

Guy came in, saw us, and said “whoa!”

Sound Poetry Extravaganza tonight!

"Sound poetry" makes it seem fancy. It's crazy sounds that aren't quite words & aren't quite not words. From the Dadaists of the original Cabaret Voltaire to John Giorno's echoing slogan-riddled rants, @wfmu.bsky.social's got you covered!
