The same model of car in both EV & ICE form will be a fundamentally flawed design for one or the other, consumers know they’re terrible, & are increasingly rare for that reason.

Battery chemistry is irrelevant to this topic & is frankly just fine, & much better than oil chemistry.

The RAC doesn’t think it was ever passed on and have culled for it to be ditched themselves.

Ditching the fuel duty freeze would have essentially been a ‘free’ way to encourage EV transition (new & used), yet they’re potentially going to increase EV purchase grants at large cost which are only accessible to those buying a new EV.

Except my (common) EV isn’t meaningfully different in weight to a well specced ICE BMW 3 series. 🤷‍♂️

It’s crazy - they could ditch the cut, incentivise the transition to EVs & make money.
