I shoot off a tripod almost exclusively so I don't notice shutter speed as much as freehand photographers do.

Thank you. I'd need to check. It was a very bright moon and i wa a shooting wide open at F1.4. So the exposure might have been as short as 2 - 4 seconds. But I'm not sure without looking at the PC...

I think the world would be a better place if more people took the time to stop and contemplate the clouds. :)

Thank you so much :)

Yup! I've been a cloud junkie my whole life!

Thank you! The big storms are just spectacular, hey?

I have that book... and I very nearly went with The Lady Slings The Booze as the title... but Billie Holiday was singing in my head :)

These are perfectly ordinary aurora australis lights. It was a decent storm with a lot of power, and that's the only unusual thing about it.

You failed to understand the lessons of your schooling, which is a pity. Worse, you've failed to correct that error in the intervening years. You're embarrassing the entire species now. Stop.

The lady will sing and dance long after we are gone. And beauty will exist far beyond our species.

Haha, thanks! Lol 😆

Thank you so much! I stayed out quite late, and the clouds got worse, so I'm glad I got some nice images!

Thank you 😊
It is a great album, and of course i had to listen to it while editing, which is why my little poem fits the melody. I couldn't get it out of my head, and the words flowed out in time to the music.

(Heh, I nearly added a 4th verse that ended in "Holiday" just to pay my respects!)

The Lady Sings The Blues 2/2

...

It's her an' me alone
With her I feel at home
All night I watch, enraptured by her play.

I think i like the one with the seagull because while the brain is trying to make sense of the abstracts, there's suddenly this little shape that brings coherence and understanding to the whole thing. Love it!
