Being able to dress up in the morning and leave the house for work is such an underrated privilege. I WFH (mostly in my pjs) that I didn’t know how much I miss leaving the house. I’m still going to complain about putting makeup on.

Watched a few episodes of ‘She the People.’ Felt queasy the entire time. #TylerPerry wrote an Harvard educated lawyer as a clueless, inept nonentity. #ShethePeople is an unforgivable embarrassment. Black women deserve better.

When I chose to go to grad school, I was told in my ultra conservative Christian community that no man would want to marry me, because educated women are not submissive. Who cares about a man when you can read books? I got a PhD and a man with double doctorate ✌🏾

My favorite New Year’s hymn. It hits differently this time because I can relate to Frances Havergal’s experience around the time she penned this poem

Johnnie Mae is one of my favorite characters in this movie. She did not let others’ judgment on her ‘uncouth’ nature affect her. #SixTripleEight
Side note, this is the best work Tyler Perry has done imo. For once, a black woman’s trauma is not a feast. #blacksky

Yoruba imperialism with a dash of supremacy at its finest. However, the nuances of this issue isn’t what a news story would do justice.
"“I have nothing in common with the people from the north of the country, the Boko Haram where Islamism is.

“Being Yoruba is my true identity, and I refuse to be lumped with northern people of Nigeria, who ‘were our ethnic enemies..."
