They're still agreeing who will be the front end and who will be the back end... The Sea Devil-type creatures are quite cool though and not, as I was fearing, a Silurian-style faceplate.

(By the way I think they've special-editioned the Myrka in the recently announced Blu ray set.)

I noticed that when reading this one recently!

Far from it, the 'Sea Devil' ambassador has been imposing and intimidating so far. Meanwhile Russell Tovey is doing great work being utterly bewildered. I do like the 'first contact' political vibes.

This was actually my favourite one I did for that story. I don't normally get to do Boy's Own stuff... #DoctorWho

Happy Sea Devil day! Here's an illustration I did for the story Sealed Orders: Geneva in the U.N.I.T Fannual 1974. #DoctorWho

Morning Womble! I wanted a Christmas romance and turned to the reliable Mary Balogh. This is a marriage of convenience that relies on two frozen individuals NOT COMMUNICATING for literally half the book (aargh!) but that also gives it unstoppable momentum; when the thaw begins it is very satisfying.

Passed this poster at a bus stop and briefly thought it was for #Babylon5.

Finger on the pulse.

Obsessed by this now. The article describing the non-existent trailer for the non-existent Last Kingdom sequel could hardly be more AI: the indefinable air of a book review by a pupil who hasn't done the reading but is trying to hide it through florid prose.

Wife got a handheld games emulator and one of the many things in its library is this! The arcade holy grail of my childhood and now you can play it in bed. Truly we live in an age of wonders.

Good morning on a bright and sunny Sunday! I'm reading Time for You, a time-travel romance about a tousled Victorian man from Edinburgh landing in modern Minnesota and falling for a trainee Doctor. It's appealingly done but not quite clicking for me.

I'm not saying the system couldn't be improved, but this type of story exists for only one reason which is to vaguely imply that asylum seekers are an outrageous imposition on society.

The media is obsessed with the minutiae of asylum expenses like certain writers are obsessed with trans people.

Morning Womble. Currently reading A Marriage of Undead Inconvenience by Stephanie Burgis, a very likeable novella that I would categorise as, ah, alt-history supernatural historical regency romance.
