Climate risk is financial risk – we need asset managers who will invest responsibly.🧵

The fascist right doesn’t believe that American Jews belong in America. They want us to live in our own ethno-state—not here.

People like Zohran believe America is a multiracial democracy in which everyone should belong.

It’s insane the latter is treated as antisemitism.

I want people to displace the imaginary depictions of *revolutions* that they have come to create in their heads with the actual small revolutionary acts that happen daily. We might get closer to revolution that way.

If I was a software company, I would:
1. Think long and hard about whether I truly needed any AI integration; not give in to FOMO and isomorphism, and
2. Make any AI integration opt IN
Not satisfied with just destroying their own brand goodwill, OS companies are now using AI to try to destroy the good names of the apps users install. (Scrivener taking out adds to explain how it has no AI but Apple adds some anyway.)

Worth flagging this up--US scholarly orgs might usefully circulate primers for how to check if your work was used, how to join the suit, pluses/minuses of doing so, etc?
Remember: they used thousands of academic books too! If you’re a scholar, check for your books too. This isn’t just novelists and pop writers, it’s academic books too!

No institution or person who caved or caves to Trump can ever be fully trusted again. This includes many universities and the people who run them and the owners of many news orgs. Remember their names and deeds.
*Every single* institution, organization, and individual who caved into Trump already looks worse for having done so.

And every one that stood up continues to look better.
Man, CBS must feel really stupid right now!

Just kidding, CBS wasn't settling a lawsuit. They were paying a bribe and they knew it.

to be clear, i also do not think it is necessarily true that adopting a laundry list of progressive positions is an instant win either. i think you have to do the work of discovering what it is that voters want in a direct and engaged way. and i think that voters want moral leadership.
it is almost as if accommodating and conceding to far right ideas legitimizes them and signals to voters that the far right is a legitimate choice for governance
The Danish Social Democrats are currently on course for their worst election result since at least the Second World War, despite their brand of far-right accommodationism being touted as a blueprint for other centre-left parties.

And aren't in positions of power, because that sort of bravery is seen as disqualifying from power.
