It's great when someone in admin completely disregards the "AI innovation" concerns of an entire section of the faculty!

If you can't sellout THE SOUND OF MUSIC, you're screwed.

Seeing DAMN YANKEES today is really just an excuse to keep saying "Damn Yankees" like Jean Stapleton at the 1994 Tony Awards.

Felt so safe with four cops shoved around a golf cart gossiping outside Union Station tonight. 🫡

And, of course, amid all this, A&M's English department is supposed to be hiring an Asian American lit specialist. Good luck with that now.

See? Nothing's enough for these people until the president is gone and anything that dares acknowledge the existence of queer and non-white people is excised from the curriculum entirely.

And let's be crystal clear: the issue, they insist, is that the course content was not in line with the catalog description. The catalog descriptions offer an incredible amount of academic freedom in what content is taught. But that clearly doesn't extend to anything conservatives think is bad.

Just saying more shit that has no basis in reality, the conservative politician way.

Student loans are so stupid. I paid one off but because it took *days* for the payment to go through, interest accrued, and I now have sixteen cents left on the loan.

Started the semester the only way I know how: telling students I understand why they don't talk in class because I never did and doing my best to guilt them into not using generative AI

"It's a tough moral question, for sure" is probably something a lot of people in the Gestapo said too

If you can't tell by the state of my building's staircase, I got a new fridge yesterday.

Retitling, rewriting, shoving other songs into PAL JOEY kinda makes one wonder if PAL JOEY just shouldn't be a show we revive.

Was looking at my stuff from when I taught composition in fall 2021, and I still stand by the list of prohibited topics for students' "Pop Culture Argument" assignment.
August 14, 2025 at 12:40 AM
The only time in a 9-page "On-Ramp to AI" that these professors even mentioned the possibility that generative AI makes shit up is one sentence suggesting an assignment where students are "tasked with verifying AI-generated content using credible sources."

Are you not embarrassed to admit that you're okay having ChatGPT do all your work for you? And are seemingly okay with students doing it too?
August 11, 2025 at 9:37 PM
Not sure I want to hear about using AI in the classroom from a group of colleagues who say "AI chatbots are more than just advanced search engines."

Someone at the queer theater in town 100% wanted to direct NEXT TO NORMAL but then had to make up why it counts as queer.
