During WWII a German vessel fired upon sailors floating in the sea after the Greek vessel Peleus was sunk. The officers were tried and convicted in the Peleus War Crimes trial.

To be clear—the shooting happened and was a tragedy. But the shooter was a CIA ally who suffered from mental health issues for things he did during the Trump administration and the Trump administration wanted him in the US. To use this event as a cause célèbre is a massive fraud.

I'm not saying Trump wanted him in America to shoot people. I'm saying Trump granted asylum in 2025 because he'd been fully vetted, and Trump supported the program that brought Afghan allies to America in 2021. I'm absolutely *not* suggesting some conspiracy theory that Trump organized the shooting.

What I'm saying is that this tragedy has nothing to do with immigration policy or DC crime and Trump knows it. This man was in the US because of decisions Trump either made or agreed with. But he's now using this shooting as an excuse to change unrelated policies in dictatorial ways.

Bitcoin has become a Trump trade, and Bitcoin’s declining price is an indicator of Trump’s declining dominance over the G.O.P..

Looking at these blossoms today, I kept thinking about how resilience doesn’t always announce itself with noise. Sometimes it’s just a branch pushing out new life against a wide, indifferent sky. Moments like this remind me that beauty often shows up quietly.

Don’t worry folks, the OBR has now removed the document from its website. That should do it…

Friends, the word “radical” comes from the Latin word meaning “root.” To be politically radical does not mean fringe. To be radical is to focus one’s attention on the *roots* of the systems that govern us, such as Capitalism.

Fundamental, systemic change requires radical thinking and action. ✨🌲✨

Can someone explain to me why it takes 30 days to release the Epstein files, when a few months ago they didn’t even exist?

I am a big fan of @polgreen.bsky.social and we had real conversation about the survivors of Epstein and the larger implications of me too

“There’s a raw charm in this piece. The way the hounds lean in, totally locked into whatever they’ve caught scent of… you can almost feel the tension in the brushstrokes. Nothing fancy, nothing polished — just a moment of pure instinct caught on canvas. I love when art feels this alive.”

“Do I understand correctly that there is now a dispute within the administration about whether this ‘peace plan’ was written by Russians or Americans?” foreign affairs journalist Anne Applebaum asked last night on social media….

Looks like Russia just ran the most pervasive and successful "hearts and minds" campaign in history. 🫠

The noise is loud, but history whispers: vigilance matters. The lesson is clear—anger alone isn’t enough. We need wisdom from the past and courage in the present

The Gilded Age and the 1930s remind us that when power concentrates and accountability weakens, democracy suffers. The question today: will we defend it, not as nostalgia, but as a living project?

History is moving fast, and we’re living it. Right now, debates in Congress aren’t just policy fights—they’re tests of our democracy. Some leaders push for more control; others warn that unchecked power threatens the system itself.

There’s a quiet sweetness in this scene — a little family of geese moving through the morning mist like they’re keeping a rhythm the rest of us forgot. Soft light, cool air, and an old tripod adding character. A calm moment that makes you breathe slower.
