Piers Morgan when a conservative gets lightly criticized for calling for a genocide: *goes on Jubilee, screeches incoherently about free speech*

Piers Morgan when a TA gets suspended for the crime of grading a bad essay while trans: “…”

Maybe he only cares about free speech when it benefits him?

Words have multiple meanings. It’s also a song reference.

To be clear: I’m not being hyperbolic when I call Trump’s auto-invasions “fascist.”

This admin uses the pretext of an imaginary wave of mass migration (“invasion”) to declare a state of emergency & protect the volk from the enemy.

Or, as I wrote in my political theory thesis earlier this year:

The Senate voted to pass the Epstein Transparency Act through unanimous consent.

Time to see where the cover-up lies: does Trump pocket veto, does Patel/Bondi invoke national security, or do they redact the files to cover for Trump and the billionaire elites pillaging this country?

Jeffries vs Chuck Schumer CR infighting 👀

If even Jeffries is demanding that we hold the line for ACA & more, it shows how out of touch Schumer (primary 2028) & other Sen Dems are on this.

If establishment Senators fold, they are betraying the American people

I’m a Christian, personally, and reading this made me like Talarico more!

His campaign’s response was 10/10. If clickbait existed in Biblical times, I could easily imagine the “not play into” line appearing somewhere in the text!

If the Mamdani exit polls weren’t enough for you — young men aren’t conservative!

2024 was a turnout & policy failure. Young men simply aren’t going to vote for the neoliberal status quo that is robbing them blind.

You want to win young men? Run with a vision of progressive change, like Mamdani

This is big. The new anti-Trump coalition depends on the very working families that billionaire-ran monopolies exploit.

Mamdani having antitrust enforcer Lina Khan on his team is going to keep monopolies and hedge fund managers like Bill Ackman (stay in your lane) in NYC up at night :)

Final speaker of the day (night?) is Dr. Cornel West.

He’s giving a brief recap of the events today, including the “protest we had today” of Bass (met with audience applause and cheers), before reminding everyone to “Lift Up Every Voice!” (with audience emphasis), “not every Echo”

Spent most of the next section time making connections with other organizers and activists, but now I’m sitting in Organizing 101, aka Why & How We Fight by Wade Kyle

Protest over. Rep. Sydney Kamlager-Dove is now speaking, and she’s fantastic (per usual).

She’s putting House Republican’s feet to the fire for letting Trump destroy the White House and this country. I think she’s about to pitch a strategy for House Dems to resist

Protest against Bass broke out, mostly by people who were in the CSD panel with me.

Good to see public opposition to Bass for her inability to get the LAPD under control (and for other reasons).

I wasn’t part of the protest, but stood with them to ward off a police sheriff heading towards them

BAP up first, handed out two trifolds. I like them being bilingual, helps make it more accessible and understandable. The focus is on anti-imperialism in the Americas (ie returning Guantanamo to Cuba), which I can get behind

Now at: the Building Networks of Care and Community Self-Defense panel hosted by Ndindi Kitronga, which I’m much more interested in ngl

Main takeaway I have so far is that people should apply for MediCal now, because the requirements will be changing next year and some people who are currently eligible will not be eligible

Had to use the restroom. Bizarrely, only the gender-inclusive restroom is locked, while the other ones are open.

I’m sure that was a mistake by LA Trade Tech, but it’s funny to note
