The hint of cute/cartoony in my style comes from my use of solid black lines and bright highlights. It just so happens that these techniques are really useful for helping people understand subtle morphological features. The cuteness is just a bonus. 😊

I try to capture at least 90% of known variation in each illustration, ignoring outliers. Sometimes I have to tie two different color sliders together (like black+red to green+white). If there's MORE variation, I usually split them up into entirely different pages (like I did with N. auriferus).
