Josh Kenny however turning out to be some find. Along with Soroka and Paddy McCarthy he's been a real bright spark in what's otherwise been a pretty unconvincing start to the season from Leinster.

Strong team. Genuinely surprised Beirne is playing, would have thought he'd be rested.

The Max Deegan All-Stars ride again. Strong enough team given the lack of internationals available, though a few very inexperienced faces, including Ericson potentially making his debut. Tector notably on the bench but probably to cover 12 rather than 10. Snyman, somewhat surprisingly, is available

My best guess, based on Ireland and Ireland A selections over the last year, as to the current Ireland depth chart (ymmv as to specific order, particularly beyond the first few options).

One of the young folk in the office mentioned he'd never seen whatever show this meme was from, so I regret to inform you we may be entering the Post-Simpsons Era

Even by the standards of Infantino's FIFA this is something else.

Really is hard to know what to make of all this. Some of it is is a by-product of Ireland's broader performance regression (as we've come under more pressure in defence we give away more penalties and cards as a result) but that doesn't explain all of it.

Christ.

McCarthy looks like he's nearing return but Baird, Connors, Culhane and Osborne are all expected to be out for a long time (joining Keenan and Foley on the long-term injury list), with Henshaw and TOB also out for at least the next game. Not graet with Europe looming.

A good example of this is how frequently SOME leftist commentators will try to portray any form of anti-social behaviour as being an inevitable response to the crushing hand of capital, rather than just people being obnoxious and trying to evade their responsibilities.

We'd have lost another player had we done that

Moore returns to Ulster after a spell on loan to Newcastle that lasted (checks notes) 19 long days.

Enjoyed this on Ireland's play-off draw and the inevitable summoning of the Mocker Gods

47) A Haunting in Venice

Like Branagh's previous Poirot films it's patchy and a bit silly, but the haunted house setting gives it a bit of an edge the others don't have so it's probably the best of them. Michelle Yeoh has a couple of great scenes.

46) KPop Demon Hunters

I'm probably not the target demographic for this but I enjoyed it more than I expected: high energy, catchy songs, good animation, surprisingly funny. Can see why it's been a big hit.

Such a shameful betrayal of Ukraine by the US. Europe should step up, but I don't know if it has the will to do so.

A month late to catch the proper Halloween spirit, but time for Silent Hill f. Can it possibly be as scary as last year's truly terrifying Silent Hill 2 remake? Let's find out.
November 20, 2025 at 5:43 PM
Henshaw's absence the only surprise here (is he injured?), with Farrell beating him to the bench. Otherwise it's largely as predicted, with Sam starting at 10 and Ringer and Josh back. Paddy McCarthy features again: his leap into 2nd on the LH depth chart is one of the big stories of the Autumn.

Into The Silence is not specifically about WW1 but it contains some of the best, most impassioned, most enraging writing I've ever read about WW1. A generation of men fed into a woodchipper for no reason.

Finally got to see Cassyette too, who absolutely rules and surely can't be too far away from headlining venues like this. Sounds like (and I mean this as a huge compliment) a metal version of Pink.

Anyway, Hot Milk were a lot of fun at the Roundhouse tonight. Can't say I knew their stuff hugely well going but really good energy, and clearly (from their emotional onstage reaction to the crowd's response) a show that meant a lot to them.

This sign at the Roundhouse's cloakroom is, as anyone who's been there knows, entirely accurate, but I do find it incredibly funny that they're basically saying "if you want to pick up your jacket without waiting for half an hour you just have to miss 10-20% of the show you've paid to see."

There you go mate. Happy reading and enjoy the rest of your day.

I have read it and I'm curious, what do you think is different from what I've said?
