I received this “karma” from a team mate this week. It beautifully encapsulates how I work that I saved it for my portfolio. Her comment about “playing with the medium” here is about me figuring out ways to play with Gaussian Splats, a method to scan environments into 3D models.

I attended a workshop today where you answer a bunch of questions and this program spits out your personality profile. The profile is very long but this one part was surprising — surprising bc it feels like someone has been eavesdropping.

Thank you, but I do possess an Alan Watts book. It was a graduation gift from my college professor. I’ve attached a photo of his inscription here. Also, here are most of the Zen Buddhist/philosophy books I own. I’ve had them since my 20’s. These are the readings of an atheist.

I saw this job posting for a software engineer from Zillow. It occurred to me that we use “Beth” in the job description. Beth is the codified persona name for the buyer. I recalled when I first started and heard people talk about Beth, I was like, “Who the hell is Beth?”

Here’s what I’ve been working on for the past year. This is SkyTour, a 3D exterior tour utilizing Gaussian Splat. The UX is in the modeling of the “flight path.” I led the prototyping team that built the first POC. I was the sole designer and researcher on the project, one of the 1st inventors.

Went to this hole in the wall in San Diego based on a recommendation from family. I don’t eat burgers very often. I just ordered their basic $8 smash burger, but man, it was so good.

Somebody shared this on LI. Dropping UX from titles don’t bother me. I’ve always brought focus to the UX problem regardless of the title I held. Bc of me we have UX automation in our Gen AI experience.

This chart is from TrueUp. Basically layoffs increased by 10x from 2021 to 2022. When I look at this, I wonder how many of these people actually found work after how long. I want a segmentation by job types and years of experience.

I always reference these early prototypes of iPhone software, bc it’s like how we work. The prototype on the left utilizes the click wheel control. The one on the right is closer to IOS that we know today. These are scrappy but fully functional. You can see how it feels & test divergent approaches.

Imagine there are some people out there who thinks Elon Musk gave a master class in trust. What a load of crap! There can be no trust without psychological safety. These are the kind of people who are thankful their leaders chose not to abuse them that day.
