Zootopia 2

Between this and Incredibles 2, Disney these days really like their animated sequels picking up immediately after the first one regardless of the gap in release date. Adds to the brand synergy I guess (although it works considerably better here)

You're All I Need

Has a bit of the early Beatles albums trait of being wall-to-wall love songs, but god damn, Gaye and Terrell's voices are so buoyant and joyful, and complement each other wonderfully.

Physical Graffiti

For the next couple of weeks, I'll likely spam albums more than usual. Got Christmas hols with the family and wanna find lots of material for the playlist.

This one went on a bit.

Ping Pong: the Animation

"But what did you *really* think of it?"
"Well...it was alright. Fairly standard character work for a sports anime but wonderful animation and music"
"Yeah!"
"Yeah!"
*both start finger-gunning ping pong balls into the air*

Parsely, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme

Simon and Garfunkel records make for excellent accompaniment to dog walks on clear autumn and winter days. Really adds to atmosphere.

Electric Landlady

Oof, this was a bit disappointing. Not awful, but many songs overstay their welcome. Manages to sound both stylistically scattershot and formulaic.

A Christmas Record

A peculiar experimental indie collection in which 'Christmas Wrapping' debuted. A lot of tracks I *almost* get into, but something is missing

The Long Way Round

Debut album for an up-and-coming funk/jazz/soul artist that my family put me onto. Really gorgeous stuff! I recommend it if you're looking for something to relax to

Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery

My friend mistakenly thought one of the actors was Rami Malek and we somehow made an hours-long running joke out of this

Rock 'n' Roll (John Lennon album)

More casually listenable than his avant-garde stuff, though generally Lennon's 50s/early 60s throwback rock is his least interesting type of music to me

Unruly (audiobook)

Comedian David Mitchell recounts the history of English monarchs up until Tudor times in an amusing, opinionated fashion. If you've seen any of the soapbox-y miscellaneous rants on his YouTube channel, you'll know about what to expect here

The Paul Simon Songbook

Has an off-the-cuff, live album-esque quality to it compared to Simon & Garfunkel's collaborations. Also...yup, already quite apparent that Simon is the songwriting powerhouse of the duo

The Dinner Plan (2025 short film)

If you hate tomatoes, boy do I have a short for you

What's Going On (album)

Need to give this one a relisten, it was on in the background while I was doing other tasks. Enjoyed it a lot, though

Dark Horse (George Harrison album)

I do wonder how much the hoarse vocals hamper my enjoyment of this one. It's pretty one-note and drawn out, but I gave that a pass on his previous album. Definitely a step down though

United (Marvin Gaye and Tammi Terrell album)

Oh yeah, I *love* duets

Goodnight Vienna

This one's up there with 'Beaucoups of Blues' as one of the legitimately solid Ringo albums. He needs a few slower tempo tracks to work as a solo artist tbh

Will Leave the Galaxy For Good (audiobook)

Yes I listened to this in roughly a day lol

Good, but my least favourite of the trilogy by quite a margin. Just felt a lot baggier, and felt like more could've been done with Daniel after the note the last book left him off on

Will Destroy the Galaxy For Cash (audiobook)

Trying to put my finger on what makes Yahtzee grab my attention more than any other reader and it's likely because 'read out your own writing in an entertaining fashion' has been his main career for 15 years and counting
