The repair has been done and backfilled! Most main drainage pipes run in a straight line? But we’ll have to wait and see eh! Hope it wasn’t a “make it look like we’re doing something” repair job? 🤷🏻♂️

So it looks like the whole original pipe from where it’s been capped, to the fence at Pearl Ind estate has been removed? It would have flowed to Pearl Brook in the past, but instead, the contaminated water has flowed to ground through the blue ground drain contaminating a public park??

On top of the cutting was the answer to the many yrs flooding problem? A new plastic pipe attached to the old clay pipe, then capped and concreted with a metal pin in front. The blue ground drain attached to the plastic pipe is running against the flow??

This one pipe takes all the gullies from The Vic Pub to the park entrance. I had a look in the cutting, then noticed that in the excavated soil that there was no sign of the original old clay pipe?

Lots of money spent resurfacing Chorley New Rd and then the electric contractors come along and dig it up! They’ve also cut through the fanned cobbles on the station park bridge🤬 Potholes incoming! #Horwich #NotSealed

Lee Lane Independent Methodist Church in Horwich has been sold again! Let's hope it's not knocked down or has a mysterious fire eh! It would have made a great replacement indoor market to replace the one we lost because Bolton Council couldn't be bothered with it's upkeep. #Horwich

New bar incoming! The Dog House is coming to Horwich. Formally the 8 Bit Micro Arcade on Lea Lane, same row as The Saddle. I’ve tried a pint at the one in Adlington and the bitter was fantastic. Could well become my local? #Horwich #TheDogHouse

Repair finished! Will it help stop CNR flooding? Time will tell, but it will stop contaminated road water spewing up from the damaged pipe and flooding the area. That area reminds me of a park in Pripya, near the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant🫣 #Horwich

Ey Up! It looks like after 20 + yrs of flooding at the entrance of the park on CNR they "could" be repairing the outlet pipe? This takes all the contaminated water from about 1/4m of CNR, and has been flooding this area for yrs. They cut off the pipe in multiple places when installing park thingies?

Horwich RMI FC. I watched many a match from that stand! And to this day I can still remember the smell of those outside pee stones🥲
