Hopeless Judas

Mic in one hand, notebook in the other. Somehow also holding a brick. No explanations offered. No leash. No patience for bullshit. Misbehaving beautifully.
And we will win. My role, is to watch and tell the story. That's really all I'm capable of doing right now anyway.

But, we will be alright.

I'm obsessed with the characters. The villains and the heroes and neither group is completely virtuous or evil. There are various eddies of destruction, all with their own aims and agendas, counter to the will of those who elected them. Here's one of their bitches.

I'm obsessed with the narrative, not the left or right narrative, but the actual narrative going on influencing our political machine. Congress, the presidency, courts, these are barometers taking the tempratu of America's conscience. And, it's heavy these days.

I realized what I'm really obsessed with. The story. This is a timeless tale of organization for self interest echoed on a thousand agreements made over the course of history; from the Mayflower Compact to the Nuclear Test Ban Treaty. It's a self-improving organism if the right hands are guiding it.

Following a series of meetings, I realized that I'm obsessed with government, just not the governing part. I'm interested in the system as an anomaly that was a stepping stone to something better, and we're watching it's collapse in real time.

When he passes, I'm baking a cake. German chocolate anyone? Perhaps a vanilla Bundt?
