A gorgeous video for our last daily challenge of #MathsWeekScot courtesy of science.ebird.org/en/status-an...

What can you see happening to the global population of barn swallows over time?
What stories can you tell about this data?

Excellent guesses, everyone! Graph 1 was the European goldfinch; Graph 2 was the gorgeous greenfinch, and Graph 3 was the bullfinch: in my humble opinion a colour palette so perfectly balanced one could weep. Hope you are all enjoying #MathsWeekScot as much as I am!

Schools & teachers, are you finding yourself giving out 'information' like this to students and parents around #AI ?

This is poor communication - reductive, non-specific, & shutting conversations down instead of opening them up. We should be doing better. How can we, as researchers, help?

A little pastel practice on this beautiful evening. This is a limited palette and exactly one hundred strokes, which appeals very much to my mathematical side (although my artist side is very annoyed at having to stop)
