New US Postal Service stamp honors Holocaust survivor and humanitarian Elie Wiesel
The Wiesel stamp, which is set to be released on Sept. 17, features a 1999 black-and-white photo of Wiesel by Sergey Bermeniev along with his name and the word 'Humanitarian.'

23 August 1942 | A transport of 1,000 Jews deported from Drancy arrived at Auschwitz. SS doctors selected 892 of them to be murdered in gas chambers.
Among them was Majta Rubin. She was a Polish Jewish woman who had emigrated to France. She was killed together with her daughters: Bella & Micheline.
