The forward’s 59th and final Tigers appearance was versus Cardiff in April 1914.

He played for the club on and off for nine years. It was during that period when he picket up a silver medal as Cornwall represented Great Britain in the 1908 London Olympics.

Jackett played for Falmouth and Cornwall, where he was a member of the 1908 Country Championship side. His first game for the Tigers was against Plymouth in April 1905.

JULIAN MARTIN WHITE

Born on 14 May 1973, Julian White arrived at Leicester as a well travelled tight-head in New Zealand, Wales, Saracens and Bristol. He would make Welford Road his home for nine seasons.

Tigers won the Anglo-Welsh Cup that March, but Mauger’s departure was announced the following day. He became head coach of the Highlanders, Moana Pasifka, and now an assistant coach with Fiji.

Back in New Zealand he became assistant coach with the Crusaders in 2013. In 2015 he returned as head coach with the Tigers. After Richard Cockerill’s dismissal, he held the post of interim Director of Rugby between January and March 2017.

He started the 2008 Premiership final, but injury plagued his latter playing career, with his last game against Northampton in February 2010. A month later he announced his retirement due to back problems.

Mauger made his Tigers debut versus Toulouse in December 2007. The centre arrived from the Crusaders after that year’s World Cup. He had won 46 caps for the All Blacks.

Dwyer moved to Bristol and later back to New South Wales with the Waratahs. He was inducted into the World Rugby Hall of Fame in 2011.

His time at Tigers was brief, but included the 1997 Heineken Cup final, fourth place in the Courage League, and a Pilkington Cup final win. He was succeeded by Dean Richards in February 1998.

Dwyer had been the Australian coach in 1982 and 1983, returning again in 1988 through to 1995. The second spell included the Wallabies’ 1991 World Cup win.

Hare was an ever present points scorer in the four John Player Cup finals between 1978 and 1981. He would tour with the Lions in 1983, but did not make the test side. In the 1987-88 Courage League title win he would score 126 points from 10 games.

He made his debut in October 1976 against Oxford University after arriving from Nottingham, where he won a single cap in 1974. He would add to it in 1978, becoming England’s top points scorer at the time (240) despite being in and out of the side.
