3. On January 5, AHA members voted overwhelming to condemn this scholasticide. Today, pandering to the political class, the AHA leadership used abstract procedural arguments to veto the most basic resolution recognizing Palestinian existence.

2. There is one remaining professor of history in Gaza. Everyone else has either been murdered, has had to flee, was kidnapped or is missing and is presumed dead (as noted by historian Mezna Qato).

The AHA council must now decide whether to veto, accept, or send this decisive vote to the general membership. We call on the AHA council to accept our vote, but fear the worst.
