What is your unique take on a holiday tradition? Or, what tradition have you created that you love in the holiday season?

Mine is new this year. I created an Advent calendar, putting one tarot card in each of 25 envelopes. We read one each evening and discuss how it applies to our day/life.

Today I learned that, at least as of 12/11/24, Trump did not earn a majority of the popular vote. He's currently at 49.9%.

I'm working to find faith in our citizenry, and this helps a tiny, tiny bit.

I didn't report mine, either (27 years ago). For anyone who feared the fallout of reporting, "Unbelievable" was a blessing to me... reminding me my fears were founded but offering hope, too.

Over the years, I've learned: Words can scar more deeply than stones. The spoken word cannot be unsaid. Such will echo, sometimes unceasingly, for years. Psychological noise leads to stunted development. What is left unsaid creates a vacuum; without oxygen, life is impossible. The written word, however, can be drafted, made real, remain unsent. Stationary stationery becomes compost, fertilizing growth.
