There are 8 picture books on this list. None were created by women. After everything we’ve been through the last decade, this is an enormous oversight. What @slj.com has just said is that only men are influential in the world picture books. And I’m not okay with this.

We made apple pie pop tarts from scratch. I guess technically they are hand pies, but that name always makes me giggle. Strudel top, because we are fancy 🎩👒

Highly recommend Disney’s Zootopia 2 if you’re looking for a fun movie to take your kids, nieces and nephews, favorite kids, etc. to over the holidays. They worked in a lot of clever and hilarious jokes for adults, which I always appreciate! Well done, Disney 👏

Found this funny picture of myself from 2 years ago when I was judging the Cybils Awards for Round 1 children’s nonfiction. Holy Batman, that was a LOT of reading! #kidlit

Reiterating this sentiment today, and I’ve purchased matching holiday pajamas for the whole family, including the dog.

For the last 4 years, I’ve co-run the book fair at my kids’ elementary school with the help of other parents and teachers. We’ve been able to purchase thousands of new books for the library each year with the profits, and I love that.
Now I am tired and must rest! Peace out! 🛏️😴✌️

This song by RAYE is a riot. Funk and soul. The style and lyrics remind me of Lizzo 🎤🪩

TWO flavors of roasted pumpkin seeds: cinnamon sugar and Old Bay seasoning. Both are good, but the spicy Old Bay ones are on another level.

It’s a pumpkin PARTY at the Margitich household!! We have a Minecraft pumpkin that glows green, a pumpkin with a moving waggly tongue, and an orange kitty pumpkin (in honor of our actual orange kitty).

Memo from my kids’ school district that went out today. Thankful to live in the state of Massachusetts, where we have state-provided free meals for school children. Its genesis was truly a silver lining of the pandemic.
