Whenever I’ve asked someone to be specific and tell me which policies of hers were “too progressive” it would inevitably turn into an uncomfortable dance of them not wanting to put into words their belief that by simply being a Black woman she was already “too progressive” before saying anything

I distinctly remember everyone left of the candidate basically calling her out for how much she was reinforcing the right wing framing of immigration

Which, unsurprisingly, made people who agreed with that stance pick the purer, uncut racism over the shameless pandering version

I also highly recommend From Cedar to Hyssop. It’s refreshingly… not racist. The author was a woman who grew up in Palestine. She recorded the folk songs of the farmers and children. Ex the children would be sent out to sing a hymn for rain.

Once again, all it takes to roll these guys is to cancel their flight reservations. Because they only work 3 days a week, 6 months a year and spend the rest of the time flying back and forth from vacations on your dime.
