Do you know that perhaps that’s what Tony was offering them but “that didn’t work for them, brother”? They may have thought they’d jump to WWE and out of spite to AEW be given a match against Punk & Cody in the main event of WrestleMania.

😂😂 then people online can complain and laugh and share pictures of a half tarped off basketball arena that camera tricks might make look full on tv with a dead crowd in it. Assuming you could “paper” an AEW show successfully outside of a few cities.

I guess my question for everybody is, what would you take off AEW right now that you’d rather have The Righteous doing? One fewer women’s match per show?

I enjoyed The Righteous but on first glance, they look like Sam’s Choice Bray Wyatt, and never seemed to effectively show as more.

I volunteer to personally introduce Tony Khan to a member of the board of directors of a major media company that is not Netflix or WBD if he’d like me to.

I suppose. I don’t think anything is saving the TV assets, especially CNN anymore. The studio could have maybe stood on its own but unless someone took them private, they’d be a massive hostile takeover target on the stock market with their IP library.

Eventually if the stock got low enough someone would just hostile takeover them anyway. The management and some of the biggest shareholders are trying to get a payday and move on.

The WB problem isn’t with the movie studio. It’s a whole lot of everything. The TV networks, tons of debt piled on to them by their previous owners (AT&T) on the way out the door to merge with Discovery, declining broadcast tv assets, etc.
December 5, 2025 at 4:05 AM
Long story short, the people who say WB needs to be sold are the people who invest in the stock market. It’s as simple as that.

Nobody knows how to really deal with the new distribution environment, and no CEO wants to be in charge of the declining assets of broadcast TV.

Yeah we entered an era in the 90s where the entertainment companies that were publicly traded were getting bought by other companies, like AOL buying Time Warner, then companies like Disney, to avoid that fate, bought other companies so they’d be too big to be bought. It’s just gotten worse today.
