If MLS runs from July-May, with a winter break, it's not terrible. Really only means June is open.

My biggest worry was losing some summertime MLS action as it's a great alternative to the winter European football months.

Sounds like we'll still get that, though.

NEWS -- MLS owners voted + passed a schedule change today.

--League will now run from roughly August to May

--Expected start in summer of 2027.

--MLS will take a winter breaks in Jan/Feb.

--No more June/July MLS games, sadly.

Love the idea of divisions over conference, though. The competition needs a format change to spice things up. Make playoffs like NFL -- divisions matter, one-off playoff matches. Done.
I might be one of the few people who likes spring-fall calendar for MLS. Gives us some semblance of footie stateside when Europe is out. It's a fun summer/spring sports in the US.
