Bij het NIOD bleek de Amersfoortse Raad van Verzet nog verrassend goed te reconstueren, en in Archief Eemland kon ik hun na-oorlogse strijd voor erkenning nauwkeurig in kaart brengen. Tientallen jaren duurde die strijd, en hij liet zichtbare sporen na in het Amersfoort van nu.

Met grote bewondering las ik het werk van Bas von Benda-Beckmann en Jolande Withuis om de kunst van het historisch schrijven over je eigen familie af te kijken.

Dit zijn mijn opa en oma, Ger en Dien Kersten. Voor het Jaarboek Flehite deed ik afgelopen jaar onderzoek naar hun oorlogsverleden. Gisteren werd dat gepresenteerd in de prachtige Sint Joriskerk Amersfoort.
