that said, i absolutely agree with OP in that describing yourself as "leftist" for pirating or acquiring pirated copies of works from indie creators is absolutely ridiculous. to act as if stealing from a big box trillionaire and your neighbour is the same is laughable.

idk. i would hand you a copy and say "please consider leaving a review if u like it."

ultimately, while it feels shitty, i dont really care if pirates steal my book bc they were 100% never going to pay for it and the people who would read it pirated were never going to pay for it either.

for me its a matter of frustration because if people just said "i cant pay but i really want to read it it" and asked me for a copy i would probably say yes. i dont make much off of book sales anyway, and i often give out copies to friends. i know its hard to ask and some ppl might say no, but...

so..... i like them but its mostly just me making my own goddamn food and yelling YES CHEF at myself. lol.

i like sex work aus, but not when they're not written by sex workers, unfortunately. like 95% of the time its VERY obvious when a writer knows fuck all about sex work and its just embarrassing to read bc they never do any research even???
