I went to a Bill Foster healthcare town hall, which he thought would be a rah-rah pro-ACA rally. But every single question was, “Will you please support universal healthcare, so others don’t have to suffer?” And he just could not understand people operating out of something other than self-interest.

Ugh. Don’t blame you a bit. A11y has been getting deprioritized at my company day by day, even as more laws are enforced and customers ask for it. So I’m doing all the same full-time a11y work with less support, while getting performance reviews based on everything but (especially A freaking I).

If there's one thing Covid should have demonstrated to everyone, it's that there are lots of people who would rather put their own communities & families at risk, would literally rather *die*, than submit to the call for solidarity. It's that repellant to them.

West burbs are getting radicalized, you wouldn’t believe the level of interest and support in further left than dem orgs we are getting from all sorts of folks out here. Folks in fucking Naperville are pissed because some roofers were snatched off a job in Cress Creek subdivision.
