If we had to accommodate this many cars in @carrboronc.bsky.social, we would build a parking lot twice this size with lots of impervious surface. Here, it has been accomplished in a smaller, unpaved lot, with an attendant double parking cars and moving them as needed.

If all cities and towns had samba groups playing in the streets, we would have much happier communities

Watched @carrboronc.bsky.social discuss possible changes to W. Weaver Street last night. Maybe a fietsstraat (bicycle street) or a street with retracting bollards (I would love to see retracting bollards)! Lots of examples in the Netherlands and Belgium for them to look at.
