Perhaps I’ll have to get up the courage to watch it one of these days! Marty did say that Mickey Rooney was his dream lead and that Rooney said yes immediately!

I see where you're coming from -- it's a lousy situation either way -- but I think that NWern should have sued. Harvard & the UC system have already gotten most of their $ back by suing. Even if we eventually settled, we would have been in a much better negotiating position had we sued. My 2 cents!

I've been radicalized by the extremely left wing faculty at Northwestern Law! 😂

Also, at some admittedly very very basic human level, I keep finding myself thinking of all the cavers, "don't you want to be proud of yourself?" (I say this as a NWern faculty member who is profoundly saddened and disappointed by this turn of events).

Thank you, Senator. As a Northwestern faculty member, I'm sad to report that they threw us under the bus too, not only through the agreement's terms, but bc the faculty assembly had voted nearly unanimously (595-4!) against a deal (more details here): dailynorthwestern.com/2025/10/29/o...

College students who can’t handle their strictest instructors need to grow up, which is part of what they’re there for. TPUSA and OU are ironically doing the triggered snowflake participation trophy shtick and harming everyone’s ability to grow up in the process

I can imagine. I would find it incredibly unnerving even now, but before tenure, much more so. Thank goodness your U respects academic freedom.
