onset of hibernation is not a clear cut thing ... however, it could be simply that 'your' hog has decided to turn in early ... or, sadly, it is worth remembering that they are not immortal ... roadkill? worth a look ... hope they pop back in spring!

lovely to see that activity ... and then they roll around in the vegetation creating a layered, well-insulated, nest!

hogs tend to only eat fruit inadvertently - badgers, foxes, much more omnivorous - always helpful to have a banana for scale though!
