🙏Want to thank you all for your very kind and thoughtful messages. We were an "us" for 36 years, and not a single day went by where I didn't feel like the luckiest girl in the world. I'll be back when I can function a bit better. ❤️

My youngest gave me this fun portrait of Chance for Mother’s Day last year and I always catch Maple staring at it. Bet she’s wondering “What do you have to do to get a shrine around here?”

Last night, we had a summer solstice birthday dinner here for my youngest with about 20 of her early 20s friends. Took me three hours to recover all my charging cords this morning. Still missing a plug.
These are some of the flowers that survived.

I always feel like a chump growing delphiniums. Slugs destroy half of them before they grow six inches and the plants that survive only do so because I take extraordinary measures at dusk, getting insect bites and stains from organic repellents.
And then they bloom.

More delphiniums

Morning metaphor:
I always feel like a chump growing delphiniums. Slugs destroy half off them before they grow six inches and the plants that live only do so because I take extraordinary measures at dusk, getting covered with insect bites and stains from organic repellents.
And then they bloom.

Bernardo and my baby Brahma rooster. We try to cuddle or hang out with him every day so he won’t kick our ass when he gets big.
The rooster. Not Bernardo.
