As a mother, I can imagine how difficult it must have been to travel with a newborn just shortly after giving birth. Why don't we have a mechanism to allow for caregivers to vote by proxy? Nevertheless, I am thankful for Representative Pettersen's leadership.

I don't envy the joint budget committee's job this year. Many nonprofits federal funding is already in jeopardy, preparing for likely state cuts too has the potential to massively and irreversiblly harm nonprofits that so many rely on.
