Reminder: mark your calendar’s for December 1st, it is World AIDS Day. Since the administration doesn’t want the government commemorating the day, let’s be loud by showing our support.

There are two types of people in this world. Those who would absolutely do exactly what Whitney did on The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and those who are liars.

I love being an editor, but I'm only ever as good as those I've studied under and those that continue to edit my own work.

Editing is such an important component of the writing process and is often overlooked. But let it be known my work would be WAY worse without editors.
By the way, it's National Editor Appreciation Day.

Nobody ever reads a great article and thinks, "Dang, that was some tight editing." But editing is a big part of how it got to be great.

So writers, if you've ever worked with a good editor, shout 'em out.

New episode on Tuesday! (We're bi-weekly. I'm so busy!)

Here's a taste of what's going to happen. @haynerland.com gets pranked by a fake politician who might not be fake at all!

Also, I answer fan mail!

I'll be the one to say it. Paramount shelving the Last Ronin movie is a good thing for TMNT fans.

🧵For over 20 years, Robert Pietranton toiled behind-the-scenes at Warner Bros. TV as one of the studio’s key publicity execs, focusing on telling stories about the division’s corporate successes (like how many shows it supplied to streamers like Apple TV and Netflix)....

I know all the lost jobs are the worst thing about journalism right now. But terrible journalists getting powerful roles at major outlets is also very bad.

This absolutely sucks. We don’t need less of these things.
Today, Paste Magazine shuttered all its non-music verticals, a choice I am both professionally and personally heartbroken about. Sadly, I am once again looking for a place that wants to let me write about Books and TV on the regular, so hit me up if that’s you or anyone you know.
