Didn’t mean for us to be THIS Cassandraesque but there we go: Hungarian news site HVG published a series of interviews with WA today, with the fan/journalist marvelling at his luck of getting to interview him four times,*thanks* to WA being “swept away” by MeToo (offering no context or explanation).

Right. And this fixing by the AI is reproduced in the way American gatekeepers adjudicate the authenticity and ethics of the mechanically produced sonic foreignness. So in a sense, the from-here critics and the AI perform similar acts of control over the foreign voice.
