100% agree with all of this

Not sure we can conclude they don’t care. Confidence definitely on the floor-after the pen, performance was racked with hesitation and fear. Midfield control is sorely lacking-Clark is the one player above criticism and do like Saville but Walsh and/or Baptiste would make a significant difference.

Preview video for Saturday incoming? Feels like time.

Feel exactly the same-really wanted someone with the experience to give confidence they’d be able to reverse the slide rather than just hope.

Fair to say the Board should shoulder a good proportion of the blame for the last 18 months, but have them out? No way.

Broadly fair but Saville the best of the starters for me. Clark should rate higher-without him and Kodua we’re losing that game.

Agree with this. Last night was a good example: thought we were doing ok before half time, then completely changed tack after the break, continually pumping long. Might be a master plan there, but it feels like overthinking, or worse, desperation.

Do agree there’s something there somewhere, but every time we see 15 minutes of decent movement and cohesive play, it seems to be followed by 30 minutes of uninspiring bluntness.

Yep, subs have dug us and Bloomfield out of a hole there

4-1-4-1 was the way I saw it. Makosso-Mads-Mengi-Naismith the back line.

Not convinced the performance was much better than the previous home game other than the lack of individual errors in defensive areas. 3 points in the bag though, hopefully more to come Tuesday.

Too early for me but of the German players of that era, Beckenbauer and Netzer are the ones I would most like to have seen live. Even as a player, Cruyff was redesigning the game, so would put him number 1-there’s a book about his final season that I’d definitely recommend if you haven’t read.

On paper the quality of the recruitment looks ok, but the lack of numbers in wide, defensive areas is ridiculous. The only players I’d consider truly viable full back options are Walters (injured) and Bramall (doesn’t seem to be fully trusted).

The lack of numbers in the full back/wing back areas is borderline ridiculous

Personally think the comical nature of the goals and the result make it look worse than it was. Plenty of room for improvement but it wasn’t THAT bad!
September 13, 2025 at 9:46 PM
Shot ourselves in the foot with the second and third goals in particular but first half thought we looked decent going forward. Didn’t feel like any of the second half changes really worked though and ran out of ideas in the end.

Wasn’t helped by questionable management calls, particularly last season: relying on him defensively never looked like a workable idea and when operating higher up the pitch he seemed to be left isolated and outnumbered too often.

Yeah, very strange selection that: Lonwijk gotta be wondering what he’s doing here if he doesn’t get a go at right centre back on Tuesday.
August 17, 2025 at 8:22 AM
With you there-technically I’m struggling to see that he’ll be top drawer, or even that he’d dominate League One-if he moved on with a decent sell-on I wouldn’t be sad…although am fully prepared for this to be a view that ages terribly.
August 8, 2025 at 12:13 PM
We don’t want to lose good players but he didn’t come for League one and I haven’t seen anything to suggest he’s going to be amazing so if he leaves with a decent sell-on I wouldn’t be too sad.
August 5, 2025 at 11:02 AM
Not sure can judge until we’ve seen with a natural left-sided player at wing back. As much as he’s a good defender and very promising, think Makosso’s distribution is an issue-would like to see Lonwijk in the back three.

You still doing those video previews? They were quality-often the most enjoyable part of a match weekend!
August 1, 2025 at 10:07 AM
Like the look of this XI-based on what I’ve seen I would start Wells but would make a great start to the season to see Nordas score in a Town win
July 31, 2025 at 7:40 PM
Sounds good-having plummeted back to league one we’re once again in the realm of signings I know nothing about so good to have contact with people with the knowledge!
