I was paraphrasing slightly because of the character limit. Yes, there were, but far fewer. Her full quote is at www.wmagazine.com/story/hilary... along with more context. The blame on the industry is a fair comment, also in that article, that I should have included.
Hilary Swank Admits a Trans Actor Should Have Played Her Role in 'Boys Don't Cry'
"We now have a bunch of trans actors who would obviously be a lot more right for the role and have the opportunity to actually audition for the role.”

She said people weren't openly trans when the film was made so getting a trans actor wasn't an option at the time, but she also said that if the film were made today the role should and could go to a trans actor. I think that's not an apology, but a good reason for why no apology is needed.

Even more fun with comedians where you know they do know you, or don't, depending on how much they've had to drink that day, and you don't know how much they've had to drink that day. That was a confusing day back at EdFringe!

Is the party you're representing doing anything to put a stop to this? If so, what?

I don't think he generally comments on anything like that and have no idea where he stands, but just a heads up that the story from earlier this year about him boycotting Pride Month that people might find if they start searching was completely made up.

When we post, below the message we have the option to specify what language the message is in. It defaults to whatever we have set as the default and I know it's very easy to miss changing that when we switch to another language. I can actually fully believe that they did specify it was Arabic.

Yes, that's their point exactly. There's plenty of coffee brands where the farmers don't get paid a living wage, and we can choose to instead buy coffee from brands that do ensure they get paid a living wage.

First Wolverine, second Spider-Man, third Doctor Doom. Those will not necessarily always be my top three, nor necessarily in that order, but that's it right now, Spider-Man.

And now I realise "they will too" must be read as "they will sound like a Remain supporter too", not "they will support them too". Both "they"s refer to those Labour MPs. This was worded in a very confusing way.

I don't get the last sentence, the "they"s are throwing me off. It doesn't make sense for the first "they" to refer to the Labour MPs and the second to Reform supporters, but the reverse also doesn't make sense because it would undermine the appeal in the previous sentence. Is there another reading?

Same here, where can we watch this new version starring you?
November 16, 2025 at 10:24 PM
I did have a look, Amazon Prime and Apple TV both have it, but Amazon Prime looks incomplete (episodes missing) and Apple TV is picky about what it allows you to watch on. Pick your poison, or get a physical DVD box set?

This isn't the first time she used GenAI (look up the Chris Tarrant picture) and as far as I know she never responded to the comments on it the first time either.

Yep, before today I wouldn't have known either, it's not something that comes up in typical everyday conversations.

Not to take away from your main point but having read about the origins of the term "cabal" just this morning and having read about its antisemitic history, it's probably not a term we should be using for this.

Likewise with 57, the Grothendieck prime. Not numbers that we remember from our times tables that we had to memorise in school, not immediately obvious as multiples (as e.g. 66 would be), and small. That's usually a pretty good indication that it's a prime, except when it's not.
