His gentle smiles, so full of warmth, tell so much even if he wouldn't say anything and this is still one of my favorite pics to show it.
And same with heartbreak, just as subtle, no eye contact, no words, but the vulnerability, the hurt, is there. He just hides it fast.

Auri the white chocobo is Caius's first birb that he got from the GC, his friend and loyal companion ever since. An offspring of the chocobos that fled Coerthas, Auri is still rather young birb, lively, mischievous but affectionate and would defend his flock to no end.

I really love how the graphics upgrade now lets us see all the subtle expressions in cutscenes and it's only been improving with every new patch. Putting those new facebones to good use, love to see it.

Haunting. Whispers in his ear reminding him what could've been, what was lost. A shadow, too far to reach no matter how Caius tries until he's alone again. It's coldness. An ache that persists even when he wakes up.

Leodaire from Bentbranch Meadows farm, although Caius had other crushes before but none that would lead to anything. They didn't really know each other despite both living around the Shroud, it was only after the Calamity until they started talking. Caius went to the farm on behalf >
