I could use my stepson as a shining example of this “standard” but it would probably land my husband back in custody court. I mean, that’ll happen either way considering the situation- but my stepson is 14 and has not had a permanent custodial order since pre-COVID. There is a problem there.

Found a new agency but now we have to do orientation with them and wait for our former agency to communicate this change with the state. And all of this is because of “the child’s best interest” which is a bullshit standard full of problems that often serves to hurt children instead of help them.

but our agency “doesn’t facilitate out of state adoptions”. I’m sorry be so for real???? There’s a family for this child but you won’t facilitate an adoption due to an arbitrary line dividing this nation into states? So you’re just gonna leave this young girl in a group home? My jaw was on the floor
