He/Him
Pastor at "That D&D Church"
An apt summary

It was already wallowing in that sort of way over the top almost comedically tragic isekai backstory mode and this was the last straw

But this book has 4.5 ⭐, 4000 reviews and TWENTY ONE SEQUELS

Yeah, both the crusades and the post-Reformation Wars of Religion have as much or more to do with the rise of modern nation-states and a tug of war between older ecclesial powers and secular rulers over control of "legitimate" violence

I was involuntarily sent out to the store at 8 PM last night to replace our Christmas Tree and I was dying in my hoodie because the weather makes no sense right now

(there is still good, new anime coming out today but I feel like there are still approximately as many good shows but now they're in a sea of dozens and dozens of shows that are meh or outright bad)

I need to rewatch Paranoia Agent. I watched it on Adult Swim back in the day which meant it was erratic, sometimes out of order and I was a teen sitting up at 1 AM on a school night. Still fever-dream haunting though

I could almost see this if someone was actually building some kind of DRM free, well organized, un-alterable, long term guerilla archive (like an e-book Marion Stokes) but that's never what anybody actually means by this

Folks want the vibe and moral license but don't even understand the concept

There is a treasured saying passed down annually to new div students at Duke by Warren Smith
"There are no stupid questions. Well that is not quite true. The only stupid questions are those asked to show off what you know instead of what you hope to learn"
It's a core memory moment for most students

According to Diana Wynne Jones (and others) Tolkien very knowingly made himself a terrible lecturer because he got paid by the university even if no one showed up & his lectures got cancelled

He was able to write LotR because he lived by fleecing academia 😅
