I don’t know if this qualifies as oral history, but: my family moved to Chicagoland in 1992 and my folks took us way, way out of the way our first weekend there to see the Home Alone house, as a way to impress me and my brother and take the sting out of moving cross country.

I read Termination Shock and Ministry for the Future back to back, and that was a lot! The first chapter of the latter is a sequence that will haunt me forever.
