Finally, I finished the first of four sections of The Cats Meow blanket. I didn’t realize how big it is. Queen size 5’ x 6’)! It’s going to take a while. I can’t stretch it out on the needle so I took photos of each cat (there are different cats on each of the 12 “panels” 🧶 🧶 🧶

Hummer mitts were the 1st. The pattern had the instructions. They were so nice & soft & warm. I just line all of them now. All you do is pick up the no. of stitches just above the cuff & plain knit the lining with slightly lighter yarn. The tricky part is getting the same length. Patterns in alt.

My guy just encourages me by squeezing himself in beside me while I knit… I would like him to encourage me from slightly further away but I take what I can get 😊

Finishing the first section of this blanket, which is a lot bigger than I realized 😂 Not a problem just a surprise. This is the first complete cat. There are 9 cats, 3 across each section. If I could resist getting distracted it would go a bit faster!

I looked through my phone, the pile of books & printed patterns. & knitting bag to no avail. Then I got nostalgic & started looking through the books, pamphlets, etc. I found the booklet pictured. I knit a lot of socks so I looked through it & … there it was in a book of sock patterns (2011) 🤦♀️

I was hiking & lost one of these mitts. They are not only lovely on the outside, they are in the inside too (lined).

The first stranded sweater I’d done for 25 years. It had 4 colours on some rounds. Love a challenge.
So… I knit the sleeves too long 🤦♀️ & the neck was too high.
After ~5 years I fixed it.

I don’t normally start a project before I finish the last one but… I am not going to have enough blue for my husband scrappy socks. No problem. I can get some tomorrow and it doesn’t matter if the dye lots don’t match. The second pair are going to be fairly plain.

🧶 Hats? I have a few… all toques because I’m Canadian. It’s funny I have a couple of patterns for non toque hats but I’ve never got to them.

My little blond lookalike (if your model were never groomed) needs a sweater. She’s currently recovering from a bad sports injury and has to ride in her royal carriage which means she could get cold. I guess I’d better get at it!
