Classical music lover, writer, braider of leather, old guy sitting on his porch and yelling at the kids to get off my lawn. I resist and always will! Learn about composer Joseph Haydn on my blog at fjhaydn.com. I HAVE NO INTEREST IN CRYPTO. DON'T BOTHER.
If I'm not mistaken it is a new release (not where I can check right now). I downloaded it from Presto, but I think they have the CD too. The Nichlmann [sic] was a rare find, nice concerto. Even Freddie's Flute Sonata is one of the nicer ones! 🤠

Your taste for Renaissance and Early Baroque has been duly noted. I've always struggled with anything pre-Biber, but I've admired some of your choices. FWIW, I've always found Handel slightly bewildering. 😊🤠

On the same topic; I was just writing a friend about having listened to nothing but 18th century for the last year, and when I listened to some (beloved) Schubert the other day, the best I can say is it sounded slightly repellent!😲 Late Beethoven too. For people who thought Mozart avant garde...🤠

I noted the other day that my wife now has to turn her phone off by telling Samsung's AI thing to turn it off for her. Neither of us uses voice commands so this is not only inconvenient, but downright silly. Matter of time before it takes off after ME. 😦🤠

Indeed! When I shifted my musical focus from Haydn and Mozart to Janitsch, Graun and company, I found it far more challenging to; A- find recordings and B- find anyone who would admit to having heard them! 😁🤠

Killing me softly without song...🤠

The Boulanger; I've had it on my list for quite a while. Sadly, one of many listed! I'd like to hear more Hesse.
I've never streamed anything. It used to be I couldn't for technical reasons. But then I started downloading and as long as I get the booklet or know a lot about it anyway, I'm happy!🤠

They are fabulously quick on flac downloads though! Looks like a nice batch, worth waiting for. That Alpha disk and the Transalpine one have some allure for me, although the whole pile would keep me amused for quite a while! 🤠

They seem to be having a fine time, whatever that is. You must have had a fun upbringing. 😉😁🤠

I've enjoyed all the discs in that series; Chauvin is a really good fiddler with great backup, and the music goes without saying...🤠
