I’ve been in and out of that site for what feels like decades, and it’s been comfortable unchanged, even the bits that never worked. Honestly, I’m so nervous about the ‘upgrade’ I didn’t even click on the have a peek button. I’m just going to have faith until there is no going back.

I had the ‘sports’ model in bright yellow, and you could at least go for a walk. Spent most of ‘88 sulking on the cliff tops above Tītahi Bay listening to girl rock and whiny boy bands. Damn, I am nostalgic.

Luna barks at the people who stop by the patch on road reserve next to our place. It’s not very polite but does move them on quickly. Lots more blackberries for us.

Trying to get a 17 yo through it was ridiculous. They didn’t have a bank account, studylink wouldn’t accept mine, too young to open an account online, three month wait to get an appointment at the bank. The course had finished by the time it was sorted.

So much this. The only benefit of being a (very) mature student is I only qualify for a fees loan (paid directly to uni) so they can pine on about a sighted and verified bank account as much as they like. Why, just why can’t I upload it directly from my online banking site?

I am way too scared of the downstream effect to give my dog access to communication buttons. But then I worry that by withholding the means of communication I am being a tyrant. Maybe just a few buttons to find out what she has to say about them…

Make the most of it. There is a good chance their palate will dramatically shrink for a few years. My youngest ate everything, then cut out a whole range of stuff, and now at 17 we are still doing deconstructed salads, even though they’re a fabulous cook.

I hate what this roading plan is going to do to our very walkable city. Alternatively, everyone flying in or out of Wellington on Government business could take the Airport flyer bus. Rush hour problem solved.
